Racketeering and RICORacketeering and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) prosecutions involve groups who commit crimes within a 10-year period for a particular purpose. Under federal law, the penalties include fines up to $25,000 and/or 20 years in prison. The racketeer may also have to forfeit property, and may be subject to civil liability to the person or business aggrieved. |
